CED of Florida Awarded Florida IT Services Contract

Pensacola, FL May 28, 2004 -- CED of Florida recently announced that the company has been awarded a State of Florida contract for Information Technology Consulting. "This permits CED to bid directly on state projects to provide technical staffing personnel." remarked Maria Weisnicht, CED President.

The award of these highly valued, multiple-award contracts allows selected companies to provide competitive bids on a broad range of IT services to Florida’s state agencies and customers. The awards are for two-year contracts and may be renewed.

CED has been designated as a prime contractor for the State’s staff augmentation needs and is now eligible to submit bids on all State contracts requiring staffing support for various software development, systems engineering and technical support job titles. CED has also teamed with the Pensacola office of Computer Hi-Tech Management (CHM) to support this contract.

Maria Weisnicht, President of CED, believes these contract awards will allow her company to step up to the next level in several ways. “This award provides the vehicle for CED to expand our reach to all of the Florida State agencies. We have supplied personnel resources and software development projects to the City of Pensacola, Escambia County, Baldwin County and the First Circuit Court of Florida. But our only state contract was a website for Florida Enterprise Zones. This award is a natural evolution for us and a significant growth opportunity.”

The process of selection for the award of these contracts is rigorous and competitive. It evaluates a supplier’s technical experience, capability, financial stability and ability to manage projects and work with subcontractors. These contracts allow the State to receive competitive pricing while maintaining a diverse contractor base.

Additional Contract Support
The overall Information Technology Consulting bid process included three additional areas of service. CED also partnered with TYBRIN Corporation of Ft. Walton Beach and Prosys Information Systems of Tallahassee in support of their successful bids. CED will subcontract its resources on selected projects to provide analysis and design, development and integration, and operational support services.
